Sugi Dakks - "Black Coffee"

A college graduate in Jazz Piano Performance and Cuspi National Slam Poetry finalist, his dual interests in poetry and music merged into the jazz tinged hip hop sound that is Sugi Dakks. His blend of rap, singing, jazz piano is largely self-produced and draws inspiration from Kendrick Lamar, Anderson Paak, Eminem and Miles Davis. His early singles have reached over 1 Million plays and the collaboration ‘Brave’ with electronic maestro’s MEMBA reached #1 on Hype Machine, was spun on BBC Radio, garnering major support from blogs such as This Song is Sick and EDM Sauce. Sugi Dakks released his debut mixtape ‘The Business’, mastered by Jared Hirshland (Anderson .Paak, NoMBe) early in 2018 and was supported by Lyrical Lemonade and Beautiful Buzz.

"Black Coffee", the first single off Sugi Dakks new EP. The inspiration behind the song comes from his experience working in the food industry. It is an expressive release of what he would actually say to privileged customers if he were allowed to speak freely on the job. It was produced by ARIA nominated, Producer of the Year awarded Tony BuchenTony Buchen has worked with artist like Troye SivanFallsKid ConfuciusSpookyland, and those alike. The multi-instrumentalist (bass, guitar, piano, flute, percussion) made the experience making the track incredible, especially during the tracking of the flute part.
