Brooklyn’s latest hip-hop duo, St. Iago, are set to release their first single ‘Never Around’ for their debut album Saint Iago City this Saturday. The brainchild of rapper Caesar and producer Linus, St Iago City aims to tell a tightly woven coming-of-age story through a contemporary hip-hop sound that draws influence from the entire musical spectrum, from house music to old school boom bap.
The lead single, ‘Never Around’, is an experimental track that blends together eerie synths, jazzy vocals, and spoken word to convey the mindset of a man returning home after a long time away. It’s certainly not the catchiest song on the album, but we believe its unique feel will set the stage for the rest of the release schedule. Jezze B is from the Bronx. She’s been rapping and singing since childhood. In 2015, she teamed up with producer the fisherking(Public Enemy, MTV, etc) and began working on an album. She also appears on a remix for the band Wakey Wakey (“Golden”). “My Issue” is the first video/single from the album.
This is a single off of E. Warriors Album ARMYOFTWO, which will be released this Friday, August 12th. The band consists of Birdie tha Badseed and AkMeade, who have been working together for about 20 years, and have finally released an album! They hail from the Eastern Shore of Maryland with music roots in Baltimore and Washington DC. This song features young singer Ashley Strazza, who will also be on a few future tracks and is working on her own album as well.
