New Music: Jay Fletch - Money Can Change Everything
These are the sounds of artist Jay Fletch & RichCub (Audio Engineer/ Co-Founder of Wolf City Music) based out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. These highly motivated artists disagreed with the conventional way of producing and marketing their new sound. Picking from an array of producers, they created a unique listening experience comprising Trap / Hip-hop/ and experimental samples and sounds with heavy vocals leads and a solid drum foundation. The combination of both Jay Fletch’s Vocals / Production skills and RichCub’s recording/ mix & Mastering ability widely shows the versatility of their craft. After throwing a local fundraiser they have successfully funded their own Tour, beginning August 30th through to September 25th.

New Music: SmCity - Black Moses Feat. Planet Asia (Prod. by Cookin' Soul)
Critical Praise:
"the kid offers brutally honest Hip-Hop from the perspective of a young man from America's capital city." - VIBE
"the DMV rapper continues to prove he's a force to be reckoned with." - 2DOPEBOYZ
"sincere and brutally honest" - WASHINGTON CITY PAPER
As he prepares to release his new collaborative EP New History (out September 9th) with Grammy nominated producers Cookin' Soul, DMV MCSmCity releases the first single from the project "Black Moses" Feat. Planet Asia (prod. by Cookin' Soul):
Listen/Share: https://soundcloud.com/smcitymusic/black-moses-feat-planet-asia-produced-by-cookin-soul
Lyrically riveting, "Black Moses" speaks on many themes including the mass incarceration of black men and the general lack of common freedoms for oppressed people. On the song, SmCity even slyly touches upon a different kind of slavery, one born out of record label contracts:
"See n*ggas was slaves over the atlantic/same way there's some slaves over at Atlantic"
New History is the follow-up to SmCity's 2014 project Empire Falls which quickly touched nearly every major Hip-Hop outlet and featured production from the likes of DJ Toomp, Statik Selektah, Cookin' Soul and more.
SmCity is the Grandson of the first black journalist for the Washington Post and Nephew of the Final Call newspaper's Editor-In-Chief. His come-up in Washington, DC has optimized the rebellious spirit of his music; championing "The Indie Life" in the face of all corporate interests, cultural trends and common stereotypes. Aside from being respected as one of his cities most skillful lyricists, his reputation for innovative music videos, groundbreaking concerts and unparalleled hustle extend far beyond just the realm of hip-hop.
New Music: StoneXSober - Add it Up (Prod. By OhGoshLeotus)
After releasing their first project "Half Gone" nearly 3 years ago, StoneXSober is back with "Free Edibles." The Inland Empire duo is made up of Kidd Dryden (Stone) and Cam Archer (Sober) and is well known for their energetic performances and lyrical abilities. Add It Up is brought in with almost lullaby quality due to the production of OhGosh Leotus, with the vocals of the two rounding out the track.
Quotables: "Highly doubted, never heard about us.
About a thousand dreams have come and gone around us.
I could count the loses, less than couple digits
if you fidget with it, you could get the business."
New Music: Tyrone - Never Been
At this juncture, a considerable amount has been said of the 'New Wave' in Australian Hip Hop, led along by artists such as Allday, Baro, Midas.Gold and more. But, for all that has been said thus far, there still remains a considerable amount of local artists still yet to strike it gold on the mainstream despite their talents. Is it any wonder, then, that Australia's hip hop scene is slowly beginning to collect a reputation as the real 'New Toronto' — homaging the mainstream success of the Canadian hip hop scene in recent years.
One artist yet to recieve his due mainstream attention is, without question, Sydney talent Tyrøne who, after some setbacks, has returned to lay his claim once more on the future success his talents promise that he will earn.
New Music: Jones - Indulge (Jarreau Vandal)
It seems as though everyone is talking about Jones right now. Singers come and go, especially in the cut-throat London pop scene, but with an already impressive body of work – Jones looks destined to stick around. Ahead of the release of her debut album ‘New Skin’, her popularity is growing by the day, and this remix of ‘Indulge’ is only going to help her cause.
Jarreau Vandal came onto the scene with an early white label release on the effortlessly cool Soulection label, and has since gone on to tour worldwide, release an EP - the lead single 'Small Talk' was Tune of the Week on BBC Radio 1Xtra, currently playlisted on ESPN and achieved top five chart positions on the UK, US and Global Spotify Viral Charts. Mr Vandal is now due to go on a stateside tour with What So Not from mid-September.
More recently, Jarreau Vandal collaborated with Mr Carmack on a cover of Rihanna’s James Joint, which led to Annie Mac premiering the track as an FMM on her Annie Mac Present’s Soundcloud channel.
The two worlds of pop soul and electronic RnB collide on this track.
New Music: F.A.M.E. - Troublesome '16
Washington DC/PG County's own, F.A.M.E. is back this go around to shed a little light with his refreshing take on a few harsh realities. Listen to this uptempo/dramatic culmination of relevance.
The title of this track is paying homage to Tupac's "Troublesome '96".

ACHILLE$ - Where You Are (prod. Caleb Sarikey)
Four eyed ginger bearded rapper from Brooklyn. Classic rap style over funky beats.
New Music: Love At First Sound - Stormy Weather
I was broke and in love. I wanted to let her know that even though I'm currently broke, I am in love. I told her I would marry her. Didn't need the expensive wedding or the fake people attending it. Made the song especially for her.. Before she ended up breaking up with me. ;)

New Music Video: Born - "Don Julio Pena"
New music video from Boston’s Born (of G.Dot & Born). The video’s a tribute towards his mentor Don Julio Pena, who’s helped him sharpen his skills as a fighter, and instilled in him the discipline to pursue his goals outside of the ring. The video’s taken from his Born Flexin mixtape which dropped back in May.
The IGNORVNCE-produced banger, which appears on Born’s recently released Born Flexin project, serves as the soundtrack for visuals filled with footage from Pena’s career. The video is a collaboration between Josh Bliss Lighten and Third Eye Fly, who used clips of the fighter knocking out his competition and also training at the Hardknocks gym.
As dope as it is to what Pena do his thing in the ring—that clip where he elbows his opponent is just brutal—it’s the training footage that really hits home. That’s because you get to see exactly what guest Geo Fendi means when he raps, “Heart of a lion, Don Julio with the uppercuts,” on the hook. This is a man who works himself to the bone to do what he loves and help others reach their goals.
“Julio is a great example of a stand-up man,” Born says of his hero. “He’s a champion at heart, and he motivates everyone while showing them it’s not how many times you get knocked down, it’s how many times you get back up.”
That right there is what inspires the Boston emcee, who himself has used Muay Thai as a way to stay disciplined and focused on his music career. As for feeling like Don Julio Pena? “It’s feeling like a champion!” Born exclaims.
Check out the visuals now for “Don Julio Pena,” and be sure to go download Born Flexin over at AudioMack or DatPiff , or give it a stream via SoundCloud .
