Nacolbie Edward p/k/a G.L.A.M. is no stranger to the spotlight, the Oakland native has climbed the rungs of the ladder that is music politics, only to jump off and do it her own way. Coming from a family of platinum selling musicians that faced adversity, she has seen what it takes to beat the odds, and she plans to do just that with the release of her new album, 'AUXygen'.
She is fresh off the release of the first track, Mistletoe, an "in your face" track that deals with the adversity in her journey and serves as the opening to her closing that chapter of her life and is now ready to release her body of work. She knows first hand the soul crushing results of music politics, the need to fit into the ideas of others and the adversity of being a female producer and rapper that does not condone or contribute to the misconception and misogyny that hovers over woman in this industry all the time.
In fact, it was a string of joining "the group" and the "cool kids" with empty promises and misrepresentations that lead the Oakland native to New York, three years ago. A move that came right around the time she was catching the attention of hip hop blogs, in the hot seats at major labels across the country and sharing stages with the likes of G Eazy, J Cole and Big Sean to name a few. In hopes of a new start she unfortunately found herself enticed by promises from yet another notable relationship that merely led her to another string of failed starts and expectations that she should needs be more like "just another female rapper" or she needs to make more "pop" records. Never truly being heard.
