Sharif Hassan - "Feeling Myself"
Feeling Myself is a very smooth and melodic track on the Harlem, New York native Sharif Hassan's new EP called "Dear Life". This track is a deep reflection of Sharif's life. Through his powerful lyrics you hear him give a self reflections of the things he is trying to achieve in life, and the hardships he faces trying to be the best artist he can be. This track represents "soul searching" or even a monolog so to speak. A conversation with his own conscious.

LUXXURY - "Pleasure!"
Los Angeles DJ/producer LUXXURY aka Blake Robin continues his streak of quality disco singles with his latest original, the piano-house tinged gem “Pleasure!” Adding new sonic colors to his signature sound (shimmering rhodes, funk bass guitar, balearic beats) are collaborators Zach Robinson (D/A/D) on Rhodes and flute solo, and Becca Schack (Beca) doubling the mimimalist vocal: the song has literally just one, single word.
Robin explains how the song came together: “I dialed up a beat and Zach found these dope, Steely Dan-like chord changes while I played bass, and this awesome track came together in a less than an hour. For vocals I challenged myself to beat the short-but-sweet lyrics kings Daft Punk (‘Around the World’) and Duck Sauce (‘Barbara Streisand’) but it turns out its hard to write a one word song without sounding like a 50’s surf band (“Wipeout!”, “Tequila!”). However as soon as I tried the word ‘Pleasure’, its evocative onomatopoeia worked perfectly and gave the sunny beats some added sexual heft.” To fully flesh out the sensual vibe LUXXURY recruited indie pop songstress (and LUXXURY-produced protegée) Beca to share vocal duties. The result is another dancefloor masterpiece from the West coast don of disco.
ABOUT LUXXURY: In 2013 an unknown LA-based producer started to drop a series of unofficial bootleg remixes on an empty Soundcloud profile. Using only original multitrack stems for a number of famous songs including Eagles' "Hotel California” Duran Duran's "Girl on Film” and many more, they were called "LUXXURY edits” and they immediately caused a sensation in the disco underground. As a result of the attention he received from the Wall Street Journal, LA Times, Vice and more he began to get commissioned remix work from artists such as Greg Wilson, Melanie Martinez and Fitz & The Tantrums. In 2016 Luxxury released a series of original singles, formed a live 4 piece band that opened for Giorgio Moroder, Juan Maclean, Kraak & Smaak and appeared on NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly; and received coverage from outlets including Majestic Casual, Spin and Complex.

LaDonnis - "Touch"
LaDonnis' latest single, Touch, for his upcoming project 'A Sunny Place for Shady People' is here. His sounds of the past are now marrying an oceanic beach vibe coupled with a melodic hook. This eclectic deviation lets LaDonnis ascend to a different space in his sound. Enlisting help from Boy Boy, and Chelsea Jade, the track mixed by Dula is paving the way for a new project coming from the previous XXL freshman. It's sure to keep you reminiscing of that once lost love that you don't keep in touch with, no more.

Sam Valdez - "It's Alright"
Reaching out with the brand new single entitled "Its Alright" from shoegaze meets Americana artist Sam Valdez that was just released via Consequence of Sound. Reminiscent of Angel Olsen and inspired by Sufijan Stevens and the words of Sylvia Plath, Sam Valdez is gaining momentum by selling out high profile Los Angeles venues and being featured in Black Book Mag.
Sam Valdez is a Los Angeles based singer-songwriter, whose music is built upon the fusion of shoegaze and vintage Americana indie folk. Embodying the best of both genres, Valdez has created dreamy, yet haunting atmospheric soundscapes that resonate with her listeners.
Valdez grew up at the edge of the Nevada desert, in Las Vegas and credits the desert as a major influence in her writing and composing. The vastness and solitude of desert life is apparent throughout her writing, with cinematic resonance and euphoric arrangements.
After performing in numerous bands, she found the essence of her solo sound and decided to run with it, indulging in her own creative process and ultimately developing a sound that is true to her own. As a classically trained violinist, Valdez has a sense of musical maturity within her songs, adding technicalities that bring her to the forefront of her genre.
Lead single, ‘Its Alright’ oozes beauty and grace through it’s forthright lyrics. Featuring fuzzy 90’s shoegaze melodies, wistfully innocent vocals and driving drum rhythms, it’s a melancholic tale of both love and loss. ‘Its Alright’ thematically focuses on coping with the disillusion that comes with relationships. Valdez reveals, “I wrote this song in a dream-like state of mind”.
Valdez has seen success with her previous release ‘Hours’ receiving acclaim from prestigious media outlets including Black Book. She has also performed at high profile venues throughout Los Angeles.
Inspired by Sufjan Stevens, The War On Drugs and the words of Sylvia Plath, it is no wonder that Valdez creates stunning compositions. More music coming soon.
