KC Collins Premieres Debut Single and Music Video for “Girl Where You Been?”
KC Collins can now add musician to his long list of talents and achievements. The noted screen and voice actor currently starring in The Strain on the FX Network, has just crossed over to music with the release of his debut single “Girl Where You Been?”. The track has elements of dubstep, reggae, and R&B, and features artist Olaf Blackwood. The contrast between the two’s alternating vocals make for an incredibly pleasant listening experience, which is complimented through the track’s instrumentation and beat.
The track is the first in what KC has titled The Mood Project. This upcoming project will be a compilation of songs, each a representation of a select human emotion. This track’s mood is ‘romance’, which is evident in its lyrics and accompanying music video. The lyrics center around the object of KC’s desire, with him repeating the chorus “girl, where you been? Everyday without you is like a sin”. The song is about missing the one you love, even when you’re apart for just a short time.
The music video brings the track to life, with scenes between KC and a woman highlighting the lyrical theme. The color red is used to relate to the mood and theme of romance in the track. Both the track and the video are well produced and serve as the perfect introduction to KC Collins, the music artist. This track is a promising debut for a versatile artist who has demonstrated his talents in various other fields. We look forward to hearing and seeing the follow-up to this track and how it fits into his Mood Project theme. Follow KC on Instagram and Twitter to keep up with future releases.
