“Losing a parent isn’t easy. Roet “Dad’s Song” expresses how the artist feels in the passing of this dad. Located in his home he shows us memories as he reveals to us his feelings. The song is short but you can feel and relate to him through his music.”
“I didn’t set off to start a project about mental health. But shortly after starting Roet, I had three friends kill themselves in the span of about a year and half. Each time I felt like I couldn’t write about anything else and the way those songs gave an outlet to my friends that had lost a loved one quickly became important me. I’ve had my own experiences with depression, suicide attempts, family issues, you name it but I do feel like I’ve come out the other side of that (at least for now). So mental health is something I have a lot of opinions about and Roet has become my outlet for that, using my own life experience as the canvas to paint on.”
